# Data tables

A Data Table is a table of rows and typed columns that lives in your project, so you can keep structured records and read and write them by row. Every call is scoped to your credential's project, so you pass no project id. Reading needs the `fabric:table.read` grant; changing anything needs `fabric:table.write`.

Start with `create-table`, which returns the `table_id` that most of the others take.

- [create-table](/docs/data-tables/create-table): Create a table with its columns.

- [get-table](/docs/data-tables/get-table): Read a table's columns and connector.
- [rename-table](/docs/data-tables/rename-table): Rename a table, keeping its triggers.
